The Sr. Transportation Project Manager will provide leadership within a sector of organization to ensure civil engineering subject matter, technical deliverables, infrastructure projects and programs are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry and company standards for design, safety, and functionality. We have a versatile, talented Transportation team in Arizona, who work on projects ranging from large freeway designs to local municipal sidewalks. We have managers for planning and final design projects, program management, municipal work, and alternative delivery. We are seeking a Transportation Project Manager to work with our current team on delivering high quality work to our clients, as well as generating new work for more growth opportunities. Your Impact People & Performance Leadership Contribute to the management, growth, and development of the Civil Engineering team. Provide leadership, partnering closely with the Local Business Leader and Senior Management Team. Focus on meeting Key Performance Indicators and contribute to the overall success of the Southwest Mountain District and West Region. Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development. Business Development Support our clients and the industry through innovative thought and advancement of transformative transportation projects. Collaborate with other local offices and in-house national transportation delivery experts to provide clients with innovative and future-focused solutions. Support transportation business development efforts, strategy development, client engagement and pursuits in Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Serve as key staff on pursuits: project manager, deputy project manager, design lead, advisor, etc. Assist in the process of procuring contracts with preferred contractors for transportation projects. Engage with clients to develop new business leads and project pursuits. Develop strategic alliances and project partners to secure new work. Represent the firm in the market through involvement in client and industry events and associations. Project/Program Management Assist in leading the delivery of transportation projects and project teams for agencies in the Southwest Mountain District (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico) as an active member of the transportation team. Lead key projects as Project Manager, Sr Lead or other roles as appropriate. Be an active participant in contract negotiations. Collaborate in leading staff and have responsibility for project management responsibilities, including oversight of project financial performance, adherence to project management and quality control plans, and adequacy of risk management plans. Provide leadership and oversight to ensure quality project deliverables, including PS&E documents, engineering reports, project memorandums, etc. Additional Responsibilities Apply high-level civil engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various infrastructure project phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation. Perform professional civil engineering work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, resources, building, infrastructure, transportation channels, and operations to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits. Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; preparing construction safety and phasing plans, and updating infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients. Coordinate, review and approve infrastructure design plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations. Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross-sections, and other illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses. Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, concepts, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address engineering, design, and/or construction issues or opportunities. Analyze, evaluate, and interpret data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for moderate- to high-level risk mitigation activities. Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
