Under the general direction of a District Division Chief of Construction, the Senior Transportation Engineer serves as Office Chief of Construction Engineering. Incumbent supervises staff responsible for reviewing and analyzing Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, Contract Change Orders (CCO), and constructability of plans and specifications. Also supervises staff responsible for reviewing traffic safety on construction projects, making construction contract payments, and providing support for e-Construction software, responding to bidders' inquiries, and evaluating claims. Requires experience with supervisory policies and procedures, Caltrans construction contract administration policies and procedures, CCO and CPM principles and theory, traffic safety principles, the Standard Plans and Specifications, and effective oral and written communications skills.
