About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Senior Transit (Bus) Engineer to be based in the Green Bay, Milwaukee, Madison, Oshkosh or Stevens Point, Wisconsin locations to join our growing transit engineering practice. The role involves being a design lead on preliminary design studies and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects, coordinating and collaborating with team members, assisting with the engineering design of BRT projects, leading a team in preparing engineering calculations and developing drawings, reviewing designs and calculations, supporting business development, and contributing to reports for federal grants. The position requires performing work following an agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Requirements

• BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer's License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer/OpenRail Designer.
• Experience in engineering design projects for WisDOT, the City of Madison, urban municipalities, and/or transit agencies.
• Experience designing transit (ideally BRT infrastructure) and/or transportation infrastructure.
• Experience with oversight of junior staff.
• Experience with working between Revit and OpenRoads or Civil 3D.
• Experience with business development and client relations.
• Desire to help shape high quality transit systems in cities across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Be a design lead on preliminary design studies and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects.
• Coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with other team members.
• Assist with the engineering design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects, including the design of BRT transit guideways, BRT stations, and pedestrian facilities.
• Lead a team preparing engineering calculations and developing drawings and visual aids for BRT infrastructure.
• Review designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
• Support the business development of the AECOM Bus Rapid Transit Design Group.
• Contribute to the development of reports and documentation needed for the pursuit of federal grants.
• Perform work following an agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
