Requirements

  • Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a project architect working within the rail/transit sector.
  • Transit Architecture design experience including station and related facilities is required.
  • Registered Licensed Architect in the State of New York.
  • Experience in the transportation sector is required.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite are required.
  • Experience with OpenBuildings, Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-up is a plus and LEED Accreditation is also a plus.
  • Excellent design, technical detailing, and strong presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential.
  • The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem-solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on client needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with OpenBuildings, Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-up.
  • LEED Accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with and coordinate an architectural/engineering team in preparing documents for projects focused on transportation.
  • Perform the initial design phase and detailed phases of Architectural design work for projects requiring interface and collaboration with various disciplines, clients, and consultants.
  • Prepare Architectural plans and/or supervise their execution.
  • Perform analysis of design and construction systems, planning studies, design layouts, and construction details.
  • Oversee research used in writing specifications, including coordinating with manufacturers.
  • Conduct site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, preparing interpretive reports.
  • Execute code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions.
  • Analyze design and construction systems, design layouts, and construction features, which require researching, compiling, and recording information for assigned project work.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage, and oversee the work.
