About The Position

The Senior Trainer is a subject matter expert within the Learning and Development team, responsible for designing and delivering high-quality, advanced professional development experiences that support staff effectiveness and program excellence. Reporting to the Training Manager, this role plays a critical part in executing the organization’s training strategy through exceptional facilitation, content development, and mentorship. The Senior Trainer leads the development of advanced training materials, academies, and learning experiences that go beyond foundational content, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, youth development best practices, and adult learning principles. This role also supports the growth of Trainer Associates through mentorship and modeling strong facilitation practices. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, the Senior Trainer ensures training experiences are engaging, relevant, and impactful, while contributing to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts across the organization. This is a hybrid position, including in-person training at school sites and remote work.

Requirements

  • AA Degree in Child Development or related field preferred, or equivalent experience (minimum one year working with youth and coursework in child development).
  • Experience designing and facilitating trainings for adult learners.
  • Strong understanding of experiential learning theory and youth development principles.
  • Experience creating training materials, curriculum, or professional development content.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support the development of peers.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to various program regions (San Fernando Valley, South Los Angeles, West Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Southeast LA, Downtown LA).
  • Proficiency in digital tools (PowerPoint, Canva, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Stable internet access.
  • Valid LIVE Scan.
