About The Position

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP (WRA) is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join their Traffic Engineering Group in King of Prussia, PA. WRA, a company with over 110 years in business, is known for its quality work and employees, focusing on designing infrastructure and buildings. This role may involve working with traffic engineering analysis teams, which perform operational analyses, identify and develop creative technical solutions, and prepare technical reports and presentations. Alternatively, the position may involve working with traffic engineering design teams, which prepare contract documents for traffic signals, signing, markings, maintenance of traffic, and ITS devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • A minimum of 16 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering
  • Basic understanding of traffic modeling (macro, meso and micro)
  • Experience with VISSIM, VISUM, HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, CORSIM and Quickzone
  • Experience in the design of traffic control devices including signals, signing, maintenance of traffic, pavement markings, ITS devices, and lighting
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual and Highway Safety Manual
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain through comity from another state
  • Experience working on PennDOT projects
  • Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exceptional communication, technical writing and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
