About The Position

Dewberry is looking for a Traffic Project Engineer/Project Manager with a BS in Civil Engineering, and at least 10 to 15 years of experience in transportation/traffic engineering to provide support in our Southeast Traffic Engineering group . This is an excellent opportunity to lead, mentor, and be part of a growing team of traffic engineers. Qualified candidates should be familiar with HCM methodologies conducting traffic analysis/studies utilizing Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, PTV Vissim and/or Transmodeler and similar analysis tools. In addition to leading technical analyses, the position will be responsible for providing expert testimony to support private sector clients and projects. Familiarity with agencies standards and protocols including: Georgia, Florida and North Carolina Departments of Transportation, and local municipalities is a plus. Experience in project management, preparing technical and cost proposals, and understanding of QA/QC procedures is desirable. Strong verbal and written skills are required. PE registration in GA (or ability to obtain within 3 months) is required. Requirements

  • BSCE required
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in traffic engineering
  • GA PE required (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Planning principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with agencies standards and protocols including: Georgia, Florida and North Carolina Departments of Transportation, and local municipalities is a plus.
  • Experience in project management, preparing technical and cost proposals, and understanding of QA/QC procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or conduct traffic engineering tasks including, traffic impact analysis, developing data collection programs, conduct intersection improvement and corridor studies
  • Prepare traffic study reports and deliverables
  • Familiarity with Georgia, Florida, or North Carolina Departments of Transportation Access Management standards a plus
  • Coordinate and deal directly with clients
  • Periodically organize and lead fieldwork effort with internal staff teams
  • Assist in developing traffic scope of work and associated fee estimates and other business development efforts
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff
