WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Traction Power Engineer for our Minneapolis, MN Office . Your Impact Technical competence in all elements of transit traction power engineering. Ability to prepare and guide drafters/designers and less experienced engineers to prepare One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, emergency trip, grounding and lighting, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling, test plans, field tests, reports, analysis, and technical studies for traction power systems. Ability to perform grounding design, load flow, harmonic, power flow, voltage drop, protective relay settings and coordination and arc flash studies using specialized software. Ability to develop systemwide ductbank drawings by working in close coordination with respective system disciplines. Assist and provide working information to CAD for BIM clash detection. Produce conceptual design, prelim design, final design, Issued for Construction drawing and document packages. Develop test procedures and reports in support of design verification and validation during the project life cycle. Support and participate in the Systems implementation phase of projects, such as installation, Testing & Commissioning, Cutover, Record Drawings and final reports. Support procurement efforts by authoring technical requirements and specifications, performing vendor bid evaluations and supporting vendor selection. Ability to perform site investigations and walk-downs in medium voltage (MV) substations and along electrified railroad Experience in MV substation test requirements and acceptance criteria per IEEE and National Electrical Testing Agency (NETA) standards Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
