About The Position

The Senior TPF Developer at Delta Air Lines, Inc. is responsible for the development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of Electronic Ticketing applications. This role requires a strong technical background in programming languages such as C++, Basic Assembler Language, and Sabretalk, specifically within the zTPF environment. The developer will analyze business requirements, provide technical designs, and ensure adherence to Delta's standards and methodologies while collaborating on complex projects and mentoring junior developers.

Requirements

• Experience in building computer software within the Airline business.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining software for a z/Transaction Processing Facility operating system.
• Knowledge of the structure and concept of Electronic Ticketing applications.
• Experience coding in Assembly Programming Language, SabreTalk, C, and C++.
• Familiarity with Edifact and teletype messaging formats.
• Understanding and coding using Transaction Processing Facility Database Facility (TPFDF).
• Ability to troubleshoot and fix complex production issues in TPF.

• Airline experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development, maintenance, enhancement, and support of Electronic Ticketing applications.
• Analyze business requirements to provide the technical design of computer software.
• Develop and maintain computer software using programming expertise in C++, Basic Assembler Language, and Sabretalk for the zTPF environment.
• Develop appropriate software and documentation according to Delta standards.
• Support and troubleshoot computer systems, optimizing performance and resolving problems.
• Follow Delta standards and methodologies in the development and implementation of computer software.
• Work across multiple complex projects and function as a technical leader.
• Provide hands-on expert level assistance to junior developers for technical issues.
• Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
• Collaborate on creating software for Delta Airlines.
