About The Position

Senior Tool & Fixture Specialist (Level D) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tool & Fixture Specialist (Level D) to join our team at our Kennedy Space Center, FL site. Position Responsibilities: Works with technical counterparts and others to develop solutions to complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling). Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation. Makes major repairs. Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment. Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required. Provides tooling support to other organizations. Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes. Identifies problems and coordinates follow up communications with support organizations for problem resolution. Reverse engineers designs and fabrication processes for parts. Demonstrates functionality of complex fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool. Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies. Works under general direction. Mentors less experienced employees in resolving issues and completing job responsibilities of a complex nature. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in maintaining design tools, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years' experience in the use of hand tools, and fabrication equipment

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to perform maintenance or repair machinery
  • Experience in maintenance or repair of industrial equipment
  • Ability to maintain a periodic maintenance program in a production environment
  • Basic computer skills- including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications
