About The Position

The Senior Title Specialist is responsible for managing, researching, and resolving complex vehicle title issues throughout it's lifecycle. This role serves as a title subject matter expert and primary point of contact for both internal teams (Account Servicing, Funding, and Legal) and external parties (Dealers, DMVs, Insurance Carriers, and Flooring Companies). The Senior Title Specialist ensures timely and accurate title reconstruction, mitigates risks associated with aged or problematic titles, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of consumer lending experience (auto finance preferred)
  • Strong DMV title handling experience.
  • Preferred multi state knowledge of DMV title processes and electronic lien title processes.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful and sensitive manner.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • Available to work a flexible work schedule and some Saturdays.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred multi state knowledge of DMV title processes and electronic lien title processes.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex title reconstruction cases, including Certificates of Title, Lien Registrations, Duplicate Titles, and Title Corrections, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential title issues to prevent delays and reduce risk.Communicate and negotiate with dealerships, vendors, DMVs, insurance carriers, and flooring companies to resolve title and registration challenges.
  • Research and investigate discrepancies or disputes related to vehicle titles and supporting documentation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to internal teams on complex title matters.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to support efficient resolution of title issues.
  • Act as an escalation point for high-risk or complex title situations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental goals.
