Hear about the Caterpillar Experience for yourself Role Definition The Resource Industries transmission development team in the drivetrain control systems & validation division is looking for a Senior Test & Validation Engineer. In the role, you will contribute to the design and development of transmission and torque converter control systems for hauling, cycling, and oil & gas applications. You will be provided the unique opportunity to directly impact machine performance and durability for a variety of drivetrain programs.

Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering, computer science, or materials science curriculum.

Responsibilities

Working with design, development, systems integration, and software engineers to create, develop, and optimize hardware and controls for powershift transmissions.
Planning and executing on-machine control software calibration and validation.
Managing control system requirements, specifications, and design reviews.
Designing clutch control strategies to meet drivetrain performance and durability targets.
Performing simulation for clutch control systems.
Collecting and analyzing data to understand and optimize controls performance.
