About The Position

MBDA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Systems Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of composite and metallic structures, including bonded and bolted assemblies under both static and dynamic loading conditions. You will perform advanced modeling, structural analysis, and safety margin assessments to ensure design integrity and performance in mission-critical missile system applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in aerospace product test, integration, automated test equipment (ATE), or test systems engineering (7+ with Master’s).
  • Experience modifying and maintaining test software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience soldering and physically building test equipment
  • Experience with 3D printing for fixtures, tooling, or prototypes
  • Experience with CAD design tools such as NX, Creo, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Software programming experience in C using National Instruments LabWindows/CVI software development environment
  • Experience with schematic circuit design, cable harness design, and component selection
  • Experience following engineering procedures outlined in AS9100 or equivalent quality systems
  • Ability to obtain a passport for possible international travel

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, build, and sustain test equipment and fixtures used for engineering development and production test
  • Translate requirements, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings into complete test solutions (hardware, fixtures/tooling, and test documentation)
  • Develop, modify, and maintain test software as required to support automated testing and data collection
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve existing test equipment to improve repeatability, reliability, and equipment uptime
  • Support established production programs through test equipment sustainment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for test equipment and production test issues, as applicable
  • Support engineering change activity (ECR/ECO) for test equipment and production test processes, including implementation and verification
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support development and production programs
  • Own EDL operations including equipment readiness, lab upkeep, and support of engineering test activities
  • Support field testing as required, including test activities with U.S. Department of Defense customers at test ranges and secure environments
  • Serve as technical lead for test equipment and test process sustainment on assigned production programs, coordinating across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality
