Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech Role Overview As a Test Equipment Engineer, you will design, develop, and sustain advanced industrial-grade assembly and test equipment to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing operations. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and compliance of our robotic surgical systems and associated accessories.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least two to four years of experience in a regulated industry (medical device experience preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles and project management.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving tools (Green Belt preferred) and statistical tools (e.g., Minitab).
  • Programming experience (Python3 preferred).
  • Familiarity with servos, actuators, industrial I/O devices, pneumatics, and robotics.
  • CAD knowledge (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD preferred).
  • Six Sigma and process excellence methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and maintain industrial control systems and test equipment.
  • Develop and assemble electrical and electromechanical modules and systems.
  • Support NPI and manufacturing teams by delivering high-quality assembly and test solutions.
  • Research emerging technologies and create test equipment from concept to production release.
  • Build prototypes and develop test fixtures for conceptual designs.
  • Document specifications, requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex malfunctions and resolve technical challenges.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules and priorities.
  • Lead compliance and safety testing for electrical, mechanical, and optical systems.
  • Create, modify, and maintain hardware and software for new and revised products.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and sales during product development.
