About The Position

Amentum is proud to partner with the Department of War SkillBridge program to offer transitioning service members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience through industry-specific training, mentorship, and hands-on projects. This program is designed to help you translate your military skills into a rewarding civilian career while still on active duty. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals, receive targeted training, and build a professional network to support post-service employment. Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline with seven (7) years of systems test experience with real-time weapons systems, combat systems, or fire control systems; or US Naval operational experience in a combat systems rate at the E6 level or higher with four (4) years of systems test experience with real-time weapons systems, combat systems, or fire control systems; or Ten (10) years of systems test experience with real-time weapons systems, combat systems, or fire control systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in testing and test analysis of systems or software for surface ship weapons control and C2 systems.
  • Performing test activities including developer/capability level testing, functional level testing (FQT/Verification and Validation), software/system integration testing, or AEGIS combat systems integration land-based testing.
  • Using simulators in a test environment
  • Experience with Agile tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Confluence)
  • Experience with ASW fire control system (e.g., AN/SQQ-89)

Responsibilities

  • Write and execute test cases that will exercise both the SQQ-89 system as well as its external interfaces including but not limited to AWS, VLS, TSP, and Radar
  • Document issues observed with SQQ-89 and its external interfaces with clear descriptions and steps to reproduce for later analysis
  • Review system documentation and requirements and provide technical input to the Systems Engineering team
  • Review issues from the Fleet Support team and re-create the issue in the lab for further investigation
  • Witness installing the SQQ-89 system ensuring the SVD is following and providing redlined changes as needed
  • Work with the system Integrator's automated test team to design automated test scripts
  • Travel approximately 10% of the time
