Duties: Seeking qualified candidates to support the 780th Test Squadron on the TMAS II contract at Eglin AFB in Florida. The 780th Test Squadron is the Air Force's developmental test agency for air-to-air, air-to-surface, direct-fire, and advanced munitions. The candidate should have a working knowledge of Convention, Stand-off, and/or Hypersonic weapon systems; USAF, USN, or Marines fighter/bomber tactics and weapons employment. Prior experience in developmental weapons, and/or operational weapons testing is highly desired. Fighter/Bomber Aircrew experience is highly desired. • Lead developmental test planning and associated documentation for an emerging weapon programs and integrate test plans with program offices and prime contractors. • Forecast and schedule test assets and range requirements • Provide technical review of test directives, methods of test, data packages, letter reports, and technical reports. • Act a Test Director/ Test Conductor during mission execution. • Brief and debrief executing aircrew on mission requirements and outcomes. • Provide technical management and engineering duties related to the test and evaluation of major programs to include development tests, engineering evaluation tests, operational evaluation tests, and joint T&E programs on air-to-air/air-to-surface weapons. • Represent the unit and AFTC at conferences and with other commands, HQ USAF, HQ USA, HQ USN, OSD, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), foreign nations, or industry on matters pertaining to the T&E of conventional weapons systems and their compatibility with various airborne, seaborne, or ground systems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering or applicable discipline and 10+ years.
  • Experience in testing or employment of air-to-surface or long range stand-off weapons systems.
  • Experience with 4th or 5th Gen Fighter/Bomber tactics and procedures.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, test ranges, test aircraft, aircrew procedures, data and safety constraints associated with developmental test.
  • Experience with developmental testing in a highly classified environment up to Special Access Program levels.
  • Experience or familiarity with testing at locations such as Eglin AFB, Nellis AFB, Edwards AFB, China Lake NAS, Point Mugu NAS, White Sands Missile Range, or others.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders and resolve competing test resource requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and hold SAP access. As well as the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance if required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in DoD weapons acquisition process highly desired.
  • Experience with USAF and USN fighter/bomber test operations and weapon systems.
  • Experience developing creative strategies to successfully achieve high-paced testing milestones.
  • Test Pilot School graduate or Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) graduate desired.
