About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to support a federal program by conducting system and acceptance testing activities, ensuring compliance with documented requirements, and providing actionable insights to project managers and stakeholders. The role will involve developing test plans, designing reusable automated test procedures, executing tests, and maintaining thorough documentation in accordance with applicable government standards. The Senior Test Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring system quality, validating functionality, and supporting successful delivery of enterprise applications. This position is on a future contract pending award announcement. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of professional experience in system testing or quality assurance (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using automated test tools (e.g., Selenium, UFT, JUnit, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test procedures.
  • Experience creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test documentation in alignment with project requirements and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret test results and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Experience communicating testing status, risks, and deviations to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with test management tools and standard office software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing enterprise applications or government systems.
  • Experience with automated test script development for reusable and maintainable testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, acceptance criteria, and quality assurance standards in federal projects.
  • Ability to analyze system behavior, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Strong understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automated testing integration.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct system and acceptance testing activities in accordance with project requirements and government standards.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and subordinate documentation to support all phases of testing.
  • Design, develop, and execute reusable and maintainable test procedures and automated test scripts.
  • Ensure that test designs and documentation fully support government timelines and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze test results to provide informed conclusions and recommendations for system readiness and quality improvements.
  • Monitor testing status and application deviations, keeping project managers fully informed of risks, issues, and discrepancies from documented user requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of test execution, outcomes, and lessons learned to improve testing efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure testing practices align with best practices for automation, maintainability, and scalability.
