About The Position

Seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) that will collaborate with DevOps engineers, developers, and cloud engineers to plan, design, and develop test automation in support of DevOps and Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CICD) pipelines. The SDET will develop test automation for integration, regression, and functional testing for systems to ensure compliance with system requirements and Navy Federal business practices and policies. Assists in the analysis of functional and technical requirements. The Test Automation Engineer may be responsible for testing web application User Interfaces, APIs, and participating in the development of test automation frameworks.

Requirements

• Experience implementing cloud native test automation tools.
• Strong development skills in core Java concepts and Selenium Test Automation Framework development.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Junit, Cucumber, Gherkin, and XPath.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
• Strong understanding of dependency management and build tools such as Maven.
• Experience with test management tools such as Azure Test Plans, Jira, Micro Focus ALM/Octane.
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Ability to adhere to Software Engineering disciplines.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of multiple test automation tools and test automation patterns.
• Experience with evaluating new software testing tools and performing proof of concepts.
• Experience developing YAML based Azure pipelines.
• Experience with one or more scripting languages to support CI/CD pipeline jobs.
• Experience writing test automation code with IntelliJ and/or Visual Studio Code.
• Experience with databases (Microsoft SQL Server is preferred).
• ASTQB CTFL or CTAL-TAE Certification.
• Working knowledge of banking/financial industry standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop test automation for integration, regression, and functional testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in agile settings to understand business requirements.
• Design and implement robust and scalable test automation solutions within an Azure DevOps and CI/CD environment.
• Streamline continuous test processes that improve product delivery.
• Develop scripts to perform comprehensive automated testing on multiple platforms.
• Develop test automation for SOA Services and SOAP/REST APIs.
• Create complex Test Plan documents utilizing Navy Federal Test Standards and templates.
• Perform complex analysis and interpret results, present recommendations, potential alternatives, risks, and downstream impacts.
• Coordinate and perform testing of complex systems during the System Integration Testing phase.
• Participate in complex System Development Life Cycles activities utilizing SAFe Agile best practices.
• Mentor and train less experienced staff.
• Document defects/bugs and follow established defect/bug lifecycle procedures.
