About The Position

The Senior Test Development Engineer at RTX Corporation is responsible for developing, building, and integrating advanced test platforms and architectures for various defense systems. This role involves working with a diverse project team to create test solutions for radar, sonar, communication, and missile systems, utilizing a range of technologies including analog, RF, microwave, and digital electronics. The engineer will lead a small team, engage in technical growth, and support manufacturing operations through troubleshooting and debugging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in engineering design and development related to test equipment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with technical, project leadership and/or program management.
  • Experience with financial reporting activities, including CAM.
  • Experience with National Instruments' TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW.
  • Experience with Digital, Analog, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design.
  • Experience with VXI / VME / MXI / PXI / CompactPCI application development.
  • Experience with commercial test and measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of VHDL and embedded system design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test hardware, software, and/or firmware through its development cycle, from requirements definition through deployment.
  • Work with Hardware Design and Operations teams to ensure test equipment meets manufacturing standards.
  • Identify test readiness issues and optimizations throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Guide mechanical engineering and/or suppliers through test adapter design activities.
  • Lead a small team to meet project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
  • Engage in personal technical growth and encourage growth in peers and junior engineers.
  • Prepare and present work products at status meetings.
  • Support manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging.
