The Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer (3 rd Shift) designs, implements, operates, and sustains complex voice, data, video, and wireless networks supporting mission-critical environments. This role performs network analysis, architecture development, carrier service evaluation, and system integration while providing technical oversight, reporting, and on-call support. This role is fully on site at our client’s location in either Columbus, OH or New Cumberland, PA from the hours of 1600 - 0030. Approximately 15% travel is required within the United States.

Requirements

  • Experience: 10 years of telecommunications experience
  • 8 years of experience in LAN/WAN environments
  • Clearance: DoD Top Secret Clearance
  • Certifications: F5 Certified Administrator, Certified Technical Specialist, or Certified Solution Expert
  • IAT-II Level Certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GSEC, Security+, CISSP or Associate, etc.)
  • Computing Environment certification and networking certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDA, etc.)
  • Technologies Network & Security Platforms: Cisco, Brocade, InfoBlox DNS/DHCP and Grid Manager, F5 BIG-IP (physical and virtual), Palo Alto GlobalProtect SSL VPN
  • Cloud Platforms: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Protocols & Standards: IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, ARP, AH, ESP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRRP, 802.1X, 802.3, 802.11, TACACS+, RADIUS, PKI, HTTP, HTTPS, TLS, SSL
  • Tools & Monitoring: Wireshark, NetScout InfiniStream, nGeniusOne, Microfocus Network Automation, Microfocus Network Node Manager (NMNi), Concord eHealth, SolarWinds/Orion, SecureCRT.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and sustain enterprise telecommunications networks
  • Analyze requirements and develop network architectures and specifications
  • Evaluate carrier services and develop cost estimates
  • Provide technical leadership and review network deliverables
  • Coordinate with IT teams and stakeholders for implementation
  • Troubleshoot and support production network environments
  • Prepare reports and briefings; participate in on-call rotations
