About The Position

As a Senior Telecom Engineer with HCA Healthcare, you will be responsible for programming and implementing all our softphones and VOIP devices at our corporate campus sites. You will ensure that our systems operate correctly, which may require visits to corporate sites when issues occur. Additionally, you should be proficient in local IT desktop support and work closely with our network team to manage all our corporate VLANs and any upcoming changes. You will take technical lead with supervision on all Telecom projects, provide guidance and instruction to Desktop Technicians, manage assigned building workload, and escalate to vendors when appropriate to resolve issues. A strong customer focus, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential, along with strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Unity Connection experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with technical training.
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) certification.
  • Cisco Unity Connection (CUC) certification.
  • Basic Cisco switch management knowledge.
  • Understanding of networking concepts.
  • Customer service attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Extensive VoIP technology knowledge, including system administration utilizing Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Unity Connection.
  • Physical telephony hardware support.
  • First responder to Incidents and SCTasks tickets from Service (Now) Central users and teams, such as adds, moves, changes, and issues.
  • Evaluating new technologies where needed and providing input for long-term departmental strategies.
  • Developing and implementing process improvements, documentation improvements, and task expectations for the telecom aspects of all IT Projects.
  • Maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary to complete responsibilities effectively.
