About The Position

At Sam's Tech, you'll be part of a team that operates at the heart of one of the world's largest retailers. You'll help build and optimize the systems that power our stores, supply chain, data platforms, and digital experiences - learning from some of the best engineers, product leaders, and program managers in the industry. We move fast, think big, and measure success by how we improve the member and associate experience. The Senior Technical Operations role plays a key role in supporting the execution and delivery operations that power Sam's Tech. You'll work alongside engineering, product, and program management teams to help plan, track, and measure delivery across complex technology initiatives. You will also work with external payment partners/providers to successfully drive the certification and unlock the new features. We are looking for someone highly organized, data-driven, and eager to learn how large-scale technology organizations operate. You'll gain hands-on experience with agile delivery models, program execution, and engineering operations that enable Sam's Tech to build and scale digital solutions for millions of members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of experience in technology operations, program/project coordination, or agile delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, metrics, and visualization tools.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies, software development life cycles, and cloud technologies.
  • Curiosity, a growth mindset, and a desire to learn how large-scale technology organizations deliver value.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 3 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery Operations Support
  • Partner with engineering leaders to coordinate sprint planning, release tracking, and delivery milestones across engineering teams.
  • Maintain project dashboards, trackers, and documentation to ensure leadership visibility into progress, risks, and blockers.
  • Support recurring operational rhythms (standups, retros, delivery reviews, and business reviews).
  • Assist in capturing and analyzing key metrics - velocity, release readiness, defect rates, and resource utilization.
  • Agile Delivery Enablement
  • Lead agile and lean delivery principles (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe-lite) across teams.
  • Help teams improve operational flow by managing boards, backlogs, and sprint artifacts.
  • Partner with engineering leaders, business stakeholders, and product managers to ensure consistent delivery and execution.
  • Track team health metrics and help identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Reporting & Data Insights
  • Collect, clean, and interpret data from multiple systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, ADO).
  • Build recurring reports and visualizations to support leadership decision-making.
  • Support KPI development for delivery performance, operational efficiency, and team productivity.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement based on delivery data.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with engineering, product, data, and finance teams to align on priorities, capacity, and dependencies.
  • Help document operational processes, workflows, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of delivery frameworks and communication cadences.
  • Support ad hoc projects and executive presentations related to operations performance.

  • The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
