Leading a team of Technology Directors and Senior Principal Scientists, the role drives development of breakthrough capabilities that deliver disruptive innovation and enable segment roadmaps across the company. The leader in this position provides visionary technical direction, organizational leadership, and strategic alignment across HTIC and GE HealthCare. They build deep partnerships across the enterprise to ensure effective program execution, accelerate technology maturation, and cultivate the next generation of scientific and technical leaders. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Biology or related field.
  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience in advanced technology domains.
  • Experience leading world class multidisciplinary teams.
  • History of successful publications and patents.
  • Expertise in creating impactful technology roadmaps and bridging research to product development.
  • Demonstrated success in securing external funding (e.g., NIH, DARPA, ARPA-H) and managing grant compliance.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with clinical researchers.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to influence across functions and organizations.
  • Proven track record in cross-disciplinary research and technology development.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Research Leadership Collaborate with clinical researchers and HTIC scientists to align innovations with clinical needs, enabling research opportunities to progress toward business impact.
  • Drive execution of enabling platform technology research roadmap, guided by new technology, GEHC and HTIC strategies. This will involve both pushing new technology capabilities and responding to the pull from clinical needs defined by GEHC business partners. A successful output is a technology strategy, centered on HTIC capabilities, and connected with GEHC strategic needs.
  • Resource planning - Continuously evaluate capacity and capability depth and breadth required to advance HTIC’s ability to positively impact GEHC.
  • Lead annual resource capability evaluation and planning efforts to align resource needs with strategies developed in WWTP and WWPP. Output will be a capability analysis that can be used to define future resource planning needs.
  • Collaborate with HTIC strategy leaders and segment leaders to define strategic capabilities and technology direction. Support individual technology directors in this effort and work toward standardization of approach and Heartbeat implementation.
  • Push technology envelope by investigating emerging technologies and adding new strategic technical capabilities. HTIC’s technology capabilities must always be dynamic, and we should proactively be searching for new technology capabilities that can benefit GEHC in the future. A successful outcome here is identification or one more new technology areas with active efforts to assess potential for impact on GEHC.
  • Identify and develop world-class talent across multiple technology disciplines. Develop future scientific and people leaders that have the potential to raise the performance bar at HTIC.
  • Advance innovation pipeline through IP and thought leadership. Guide the team in creating and submitting IP, publications and presenting at external conferences with the goal of developing collaborative opportunities and advancing HTIC thought leadership in strategically important areas.
  • Lead and develop world-class multidisciplinary teams across biosciences, AI, and engineering systems
  • Business Alignment Build relationships with key GEHC stakeholders that will provide visibility to HTIC work and collaboration opportunities.
  • Drive and own technical roadmaps in domain, ensuring alignment across engineering, product, and business leadership.
  • Serve as an interdisciplinary problem solver who translates adjacent technical and business considerations into solutions for high-impact challenges.
  • External Partnerships & Ecosystem Impact Secure external funding and partnerships that materially advance GEHC’s strategic technology roadmaps and elevate GEHC’s presence in the global innovation ecosystem.
