About The Position

The Senior Technician, Stator is responsible for the precision assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced electric motor systems in a high-reliability manufacturing environment. This role supports the transition from pilot builds to scalable production by executing complex electromechanical assemblies with strict adherence to process controls, quality standards, and traceability requirements. They collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to identify process improvements, ensure build integrity, and provide hands-on technical leadership while mentoring junior technicians and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in aerospace, EV, electrical machines, electronics assembly, or similar high-precision manufacturing
  • Experienced with electrical test equipment (multimeter, hipot, oscilloscope, test stands)
  • Skilled in electromechanical assembly, wiring, crimping, soldering, potting/epoxy, and precision mechanical work
  • Able to interpret drawings, schematics, and torque specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and methodical problem-solving ability
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Fine motor control and precision hand work for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, by plane, automobile, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Motor/generator/actuator assembly experience preferred
  • IPC-A-610, IPC-WHMA-620, or AS9100 background preferred
  • Lean, 5S, and pilot line experience preferred
  • MES/digital traveler familiarity preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision assembly of electric motor components: stators, windings, insulation systems, wiring, harnesses
  • Execute electromechanical builds using torque tools, precision fixtures, crimping, adhesives/epoxy
  • Conduct electrical tests (continuity, insulation, resistance, hipot) and troubleshoot performance deviations
  • Follow detailed work instructions, travelers, SOPs, and engineering drawings with strict process discipline
  • Capture build/test data in MES or digital checklists; ensure full traceability
  • Support pilot-build scaling: feedback on tooling, fixtures, line layout, process improvements, 5S/ESD discipline
  • Perform in-process inspections and adhere to quality expectations
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Design Engineering and Hardware Engineering; provide clear feedback for DFM and process refinement
  • Mentor junior techs and assist in training/certification of build steps
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, needed, or required for the business.
