The 2nd shift Senior Technician for Production Setup and Maintenance is a critical role responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment. This position involves performing maintenance and repairs on various types of machinery, which includes cleaning and lubricating equipment, conducting diagnostic tests, and checking performance metrics. The technician will also be tasked with replacing damaged parts and determining when major repairs are necessary. In addition to maintenance duties, the technician will perform setup tasks, adjust machinery, test equipment, document processes, and maintain components to ensure optimal functionality. The role requires a high level of self-motivation, as the technician will often work with minimal documentation or guidance. This independence is crucial for troubleshooting mechanical systems, components, and equipment effectively. The technician will also ensure that all tools and test equipment are properly calibrated and repaired according to standard operating procedures. Recommendations for improving quality, efficiency, and productivity will be made to supervisors, managers, or engineers based on the technician's findings and insights. In addition to the technical responsibilities, the technician must ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental standards. This includes proper handling and labeling of hazardous materials and waste, conducting inspections, and maintaining safety equipment. The technician will also be required to attend training sessions as mandated by the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department.
