The position is on our project site and will assist with sample collection of diverse materials including, but not limited to, soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental tests; compile construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data related to landfill and environmental remediation construction projects, provide neat, accurate, and comprehensive documentation of all field-related activities to senior level project personnel; and provide additional field and office support to geologists and engineers for a diverse private and public sector client base. The role requires the ability to comprehend construction plans and specifications and a strong willingness to perform extensive fieldwork and travel for extensive periods of time, including overnights, weekends, and holidays. To Learn More Visit: http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/ Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform field and on-site laboratory tests on soil, geosynthetics, aggregates, and other materials primarily associated with landfill and/or waste containment system construction; Monitor activities on job sites to assure compliance with relevant contract documents (e.g., technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans etc.); Provide CQA monitoring on several types of construction and/or environmental activities on enviro-civil construction sites; Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules & progress reports; Assure project documentation is correct and consistent with company policy & procedures; Interact with project personnel (contractors, project managers, engineers & clients) and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open lines of communications and participation in work progress meetings; Assist in the preparation of the final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices; Observe and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures; General liner installation techniques and respective equipment; Familiar with applicable environmental and health & safety regulations and regulatory requirements; Assist with the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies for projects; Required to complete project related paperwork neatly, timely, and accurately; Understanding of the environmental health & safety regulations and perform work in a competent manner; and Perform tasks in other company practice areas including general construction services, environmental sampling, contractor oversight, or construction quality assurance activities, as needed. Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
