The Senior Technician at Hoist & Crane Service Group is a specialized heavy equipment mechanic focused on the modernization and repair of cranes. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades, as well as addressing complex issues that arise when cranes malfunction. The position requires a high level of self-sufficiency, leadership skills, effective communication, and professionalism, as the technician will lead field technicians and act as a liaison between HCSG management and customers. Working in a safety-first environment, the technician must be available for on-call duties and provide after-hours or weekend services as needed to meet customer demands. In this role, the technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and upgrading industrial hoists and cranes at customer locations. They will also train and mentor field technicians, perform OSHA-required inspections, and generate inspection reports and repair orders. Effective communication with the Service Manager and Branch Manager is essential to ensure that work is scheduled and completed efficiently. The technician will consult with customers on repair and safety issues, providing recommendations to enhance their services. Additionally, maintaining all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in safe working order is a critical responsibility. The position requires the technician to operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and responsibly, notify supervisors of any deficiencies, and maintain necessary supplies in their company vehicle. Participation in company training and seminars is expected, along with involvement in the HCSG 5 Marks program. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
