About The Position

The Senior Technical Specialist at Massbay Community College will collaborate with the Office of Information Technology to develop and deliver training for various software and hardware applications, support faculty and students with the Learning Management System (LMS), and contribute to the strategic goals of the OIT. This role emphasizes a commitment to equity and diversity within the educational community.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Instructional Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience and/or training that includes computer operating systems, hardware/software installation/troubleshooting, and network systems administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and development of the Blackboard Learning Management System under the lead of the Coordinator of Instructional Technology.
  • Develop and deliver training for all Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Develop and deliver training for Adobe applications, such as Creative Suite, Sign, Acrobat, and others.
  • Stay current of various AI tools used in higher education and learning management systems.
  • Research and stay current of AI detection tools.
  • Develop and deliver training for AI tools.
  • Support and train students, staff, and faculty on the use and troubleshooting of the learning management system.
  • Support and train students, staff, and faculty on the use of proctoring systems and software.
  • Other duties as assigned.
