About The Position

Sledgehammer Games, award winning developer of several titles in the Call of Duty franchise, is looking for talented developers to join us as founding members of our new Guilford team. This group will partner with our global teams in Foster City, California, Melbourne, Victoria and Toronto, Canada in the creation of epic content for some of the biggest games in the world. Sledgehammer Games is wholly owned by Activision. Sledgehammer Games is looking for a passionate and experienced game Senior Technical Sound Designer to help create a fresh new AAA aural experience for our next project. You will be involved in all technical, implementation and sound design aspects of game audio content development alongside one of the most passionate and experienced audio teams in the industry.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical achievements in sound design.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in game audio development.
  • Shipped at least three major titles.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Lua or Python.
  • Fluency in game audio implementation systems.
  • Understanding of PS5, XBOX Series X, and PC audio functionality, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Experience with major digital audio workstations.
  • Solid understanding of technical audio theory and audio engineering.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills.
  • Continuing Education Certificate, Professional or advanced degree in programming, audio engineering, or similar preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in C++ or C#
  • FPS/Multi-player experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • In-depth real-time audio-control scripting.
  • Audio asset implementation.
  • Collaborate with audio programmers and other sound designers to develop audio systems based on creative vision and gameplay needs.
  • Apply studio and departmental best practices for technical audio workflows and systems.
  • Interactive and linear sound effects design.
  • Inspire teamwork and collaboration inside and outside the Audio Dept.
