About The Position

The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) for Process Liquids and Preparation Services is a key role within the Biologicals and Chemicals Division of the BioProduction Group. This position focuses on building strategic relationships with customers and developing new opportunities to enhance the sales pipeline for future growth. The TSS will leverage their sales experience, bioproduction process knowledge, and project management skills to drive sales and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in a life-science related field such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of sales experience in a role related to the bioproduction process.
  • Strong CRM experience, preferably with Salesforce.
  • Customer-facing visits at least 50% per year with a focus on improving customer experience.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and tact when working with internal and external customers.
  • Strong understanding of customer challenges and solution development.
  • Familiarity with Miller-Heiman sales technique or applicable experience.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of desired territory or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Searches for new opportunities and uses product portfolio to build a foundation for long-term growth.
  • Drives existing funnel of opportunities to accelerate closure rates.
  • Applies intelligence-based prospecting to identify new potential opportunities.
  • Prioritizes New Product Introduction (NPI) prospects within territory to improve adoption rates and revenue return.
  • Creates an Account Strategy based upon PLPS Value Proposition and customer knowledge.
  • Acts on marketing-qualified leads, quickly converting to new opportunities.
  • Collaborates with and influences Bioproduction Account Managers (BAMs) and Field Application Specialists (FAS) to develop and lead account growth strategies.
  • Establishes relationships with key decision-makers and identifies technical buyers.
  • Works cross-functionally with the POD BAM and TSS to identify cross-selling activities across the BioProduction product portfolio.
  • Aids in the development of technical solution-matching for complex opportunities.
  • Attends technical collaboration visits to Business Unit manufacturing and R&D sites.
  • Provides post-sales product support and follows up on product performance complaints or inquiries.
