About The Position

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced technically minded Program Manager to coordinate support for the Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Division. You will be responsible for ensuring subject matter experts in the areas of Logistics, Configuration management, Test, Software Engineering, and Model-Based Systems Engineering meet customer intent. As part of your duties, you will ensure ABMS product lines are interoperable across the DAF BATTLE NETWORK as well as ensuring their interfaces to other service, DoD and Intelligence Community (IC) efforts in support of Joint All Domian Command and Control (JADC2) are engineered to ensure interoperability across joint and coalition forces.

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field (Prefer computer science or electrical engineering)
  • 3+ years in technical execution
  • 5+ years of project management
  • Strong program management background with the willingness/ability to learn about mission system software architectures.
  • Work with a team of Government and industry SMEs to ensure that programmatic and technical objectives are being met.
  • Ability to own responsibility for deliverables, cost, and schedule
  • Ability to manage workload of simultaneous tasking in a fast paced, high-demand environment.
  • Personality for consensus building among multiple stakeholders with competing equities
  • Experience with classified programs.
  • Independent problem solving.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers and program stakeholders and have robust written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience in aerospace.
  • Mission Engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Command Control Communication system design, development, production and acquisition.
  • Experience with technical mentorship.
  • Government acquisition program experience
  • Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and practices
  • Familiarity with existing DoD open architectures, such as OMS

Responsibilities

  • Manage data-driven process to rationalize government-owned reference standards in an iterative manner that incorporates feedback from internal and external stakeholders (e.g., adopting platforms, international partners, etc.)
  • Leads steering group to identify opportunities and deficiencies for rationalization including, but not limited to: redundancies, gaps/seams, conflicts, efficiencies, irrelevancies, and unused standards
  • Process owner of a Change Request workflow to modify, combines, deprecate, create, or adopt reference standards
  • Perform technical leadership of an industry consortium as a CLIN lead
  • Conduct and develop products in Working Groups that address the design/development, production, and integration of ABMS systems.
  • Build an understand of the adversarial threats-based kill chains facing US assets.
  • Facilitate/develop/present resolution of issues related to system-of-systems integration.
  • Develop and maintain mission architecture interface requirements for ABMS programs.
  • Perform cross-mission area architecture development through the identification of potential synergies and efficiencies across multiple mission areas based off existing roadmaps and Program Directorate-developed architectures.
  • Evaluate and characterize the known trade-space and ensure requirements mapping of newly developed enterprise-level cross-mission area architectures.
  • Develop candidate architectures that resolve common functions into common/enterprise solutions and reduce the cost associated with acquiring and maintaining multiple systems to achieve the same function.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data collected during system-of-systems integration events.
  • Be able to think creatively and offer grounded, out-of-the-box solutions when appropriate.
  • Advise leadership on investment strategies and novel technology opportunities.
  • Promote and develop partnerships with industry, academia, and multinational partners.
  • Collaborate with military subject matter experts and program managers
