As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. In this role, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Google's global infrastructure. Your core mission is to create the assets, infrastructure, and capacity plans necessary to support the growth of Google's global production network. You will be the key driver for developing and executing multidisciplinary programs that enhance the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the network. You will serve as a recognized subject matter expert, contributing vital insights to the broader network planning community within Google. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience in networking, network capacity planning or optical networking.
  • Experience in network infrastructure components and technologies, including data centers, long haul/DWDM, IP network and submarine network.
  • Experience in developing and implementing network infrastructure plans.

Responsibilities

  • Drive initiatives to maximize network scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency, ensuring product deployment and maximizing Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Identify infrastructure issues and solutions to improve network planning across all domains.
  • Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders (i.e., engineering, product, architecture) to navigate ambiguity and implement planning strategies.
  • Serve as the team's recognized subject matter expert, staying current on network technologies and developing best practices.
  • Utilize data analysis and modeling to forecast future demands and clearly articulate planning strategies, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
