Senior Technical Program Manager, Data Program

Create Music Group
1d$120,000 - $140,000

About The Position

The Senior Technical Program Manager, Data Platform is a newly created role within the Data & AI team, reporting to the SVP of Data & AI. This role bridges two critical coordination points that have been impacting delivery speed: the interface between DevOps and our 6+ application and product engineering teams, and the alignment between Data Engineering and Analytics teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a senior technical program or data engineering role with cross-functional scope
  • Technical fluency in data platform concepts (e.g. data contracts, dbt, and medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers))
  • Proven track record of driving alignment across teams without direct management authority
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to distill complex technical dependencies for both engineers and executives
  • Experience designing and running program rituals (standups, design reviews, retrospectives) that improve team velocity
  • Self-directed in ambiguous environments as this is a new role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in music tech, media, or entertainment; familiarity with GCP (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, CloudComposer); prior high-growth scale-up experience is an asset
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Own cross-org requirements coordination between DevOps (Data & AI) and app/product engineering teams — establish data contracts, shared entity standards, and handoff protocols
  • Run internal coordination between data engineers and analytics — design reviews, medallion feedback loops, and a recurring forum for schema and design questions
  • Manage program rituals across both surfaces — standups, design syncs, retrospectives, and office hours
  • Surface and resolve blockers, dependencies, and misalignments before they impact delivery
  • Communicate program status to SVP Data & AI and CTO as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
