About The Position

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Technical Manager, Fuels Engineer . This is a remote role, and the chosen candidate can be based out of any of our US offices . Provide leadership to ensure engineering subject matter, technical deliverables, DoD Fuels projects and programs are delivered with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Responsible for ensuring corporate compliance with all Local, State, and Federal engineering, construction, and safety regulations, and providing strategic and consistent direction to address current and future challenges in a large-scale and multi-faceted business organization. Your Impact The Lead Fuels Engineer is responsible for technical content of projects, engineering evaluation of technical issues, submittal reviews, design reviews, and site visits. The Lead Fuels Engineer will be expected to be on-site as necessary in and outside the US to attend key meetings and inspections. Lead technical aspects of project execution, presentations, and meetings. Drive compliance and accountability-at-all-levels with applicable Federal, State, and Local engineering/design/construction laws, codes, policies, and regulatory requirements. Participate in client meetings, outbriefs, and partnering sessions to represent WSP’s technical expertise and compliance as they pertain to fueling systems. Lead engineering discipline meetings and continuing educational opportunities for area of responsibility, providing updates and recommendations to staff that ensure all appropriate measures are taken to foster innovation, development, and quality project delivery within the discipline. Serve as the engineering discipline’s representative/liaison to a variety of external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and stakeholders. Collaborates with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. This position has variable working hours and location, depending on project needs. Who You Are

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License – must be verified active in a US state
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in DoD Fuels facilities engineering, design, inspection, testing, operation and construction
  • Current knowledge of DoD Fuels Specifications in accordance with the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), NATO, USAFE, UFC, and other common design criteria used by the US Government for DoD Fueling projects worldwide
  • API 653 certification (desired or able to obtain within 3 months)
  • API 570 certification (desired or able to obtain within 3 months)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering.
