About The Position

This is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Manufacturing Engineering team and gain hands-on experience in radar test system development, software tooling, and production data analysis. The intern will contribute to real engineering projects including automated test log analysis, calibration data infrastructure, test fixture development, and hardware troubleshooting — working directly with production radar systems in an AS9100-certified environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising senior majoring in Electrical Engineering
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages is preferred
  • Familiarity with basic electronics, circuit fundamentals, and serial communication protocols (USB, FTDI, RS-232) is preferred
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Python, MATLAB, or similar) is preferred
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling or CAD tools is a plus
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to build a good network
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Assist in the development and validation of automated test log review and anomaly detection tools
  • Support calibration data aggregation efforts, such as collecting, organizing, and analyzing test results across radar production units
  • Contribute to test fixture design and fabrication, including 3D printed components and electrical breakout boards
  • Assist with hardware and software troubleshooting of test stations, including USB/serial communication debugging
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers; support data analysis using Python or similar tools
  • Help document engineering processes, test procedures, and investigation findings on Confluence
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
