About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is focused on proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems supporting the defense industry globally. The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance. Job SummaryThis is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising junior pursuing a degree in an engineering discipline. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.   This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Technical Project Management (TPM) Engineering team and gain hands-on experience in project management, electrical schematics, CAD, rapid prototyping, cost analysis, and labor planning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising junior, pursuing an Engineering degree
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn 
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist engineers in project planning, technical development and execution of internal research and development efforts.
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in learning about the company product line and the industry
  • Assist TPMs in creating project schedules, design documents and estimates
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Operate and test company equipment to gather and analyze data for engineers
  • Work in the field to assist in test events or customer demonstrations
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with CAD modeling, electrical design or network architecture
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
