This is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising junior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Manufacturing Engineering team and gain hands-on experience in developing a standardized preventive maintenance program for production equipment. This will require a detailed review of equipment manuals, additional research to interpret manufacturer recommendations, and the creation of practical preventative maintenance checklists and maintenance intervals that can be implemented on the production floor. The intern will compile an equipment inventory, draft preventative maintenance checklists including required tools/consumables and safety notes, and propose a simple tracking method that can be used immediately. This effort will improve equipment uptime and consistency, and reduce unplanned downtime.
