About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is focused on proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems supporting the defense industry globally. The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance. Job SummaryThis is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising junior pursuing a degree in systems engineering, or similar engineering discipline. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.   This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Field Service Engineering team and gain hands-on experience with radar systems and their use cases in the field, integration and test with new capabilities, and systems of systems. You will support data analysis and assist with the checkout and testing of radars and systems in preparation for demonstrations and customer events. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising junior, pursuing a Systems Engineering degree, or similar engineering discipline
  • Ability to lift 50lbs 
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn 
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • MATLAB or other coding skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • May be required to help in research in a particular field
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
