About The Position

Superlanet is seeking a Senior Epic Technical Project Manager for a healthcare client in Texas. This is a direct-hire opportunity requiring a significant on-site presence and offers the chance to play a key role in launching a cutting-edge healthcare environment from the ground up. The Senior Epic Technical Project Manager will lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that support clinical, operational, and administrative functions across the organization. Reporting to the Director of the IT PMO or a senior departmental leader, this role partners closely with IT architects, clinical informatics, Epic application teams, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact, enterprise-level solutions. This role oversees the full project lifecycle—from initiation and implementation through go-live and operational readiness—ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will align technical execution with enterprise strategy, regulatory requirements, and the mission of advancing patient care, education, and research within an academic medical setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • ​Demonstrated leadership of large-scale Epic initiatives, including major go-lives, hospital activations, or enterprise implementations
  • 5+ years of experience managing technical EHR projects in a healthcare or enterprise IT environment
  • Experience supporting EHR systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications in an Academic Medical Center setting
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Project Management, or related field
  • 7+ years of healthcare IT project management experience
  • Multiple Epic certifications across high-demand modules (e.g., Ambulatory, Inpatient, Cogito/Reporting)
  • Experience with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid project methodologies
  • CSM, SAFe Agilist, ITIL, or Lean Six Sigma certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end technical project lifecycle, from scoping and planning through implementation, go-live, and close-out
  • Partner with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, drive alignment, and manage dependencies
  • Manage complex Epic technical implementations, including integrations, vendor coordination, testing, and go-live execution
  • Track project timelines, risks, budgets, and resources; provide clear, actionable status reporting to leadership
  • Ensure initiatives meet regulatory, cybersecurity, interoperability, and data governance standards
  • Document decisions, risks, and outcomes; support audits and quality initiatives
  • Mentor project managers and analysts while promoting best practices and continuous improvement
