About The Position

Seeking a Senior Technical Editor to support our federal government client in Aiken, SC. The Contractor will perform various duties including writing, editing, and managing task teams of publishing personnel to publish documents. The role involves analyzing and evaluating information to design and create effective, high-visibility communications with intended audiences, ensuring that critical deadlines are met. The candidate will develop and uphold SRS standards of quality and reputation, create effective communications, and educate peers and customers on editorial standards. The position requires the ability to research, analyze, and evaluate raw technical information related to SRS activities, and to consult with organizations involved in submitting, processing, and distributing classified materials.

Requirements

  • Understanding of and ability to communicate technical information.
  • Knowledge of publications process/electronic publishing; technical expertise of SRS processes.
  • Use of mark-up techniques, layout design, templates, and desktop publishing computers/software.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE 'Q' security clearance.
  • BS/BA in Technical Communications, English, Business or related discipline and 5-7 years related experience, OR AS and 8-10 years related experience, OR 10+ years directly related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years.
  • Demonstrated previous experience with the development of Commissioning test procedures utilizing the guidance from Manual 5E, Startup Test Program, and related directives and standards.

  • Compiling, consolidating, analyzing, evaluating, and researching materials submitted for publication.
  • Determining best style, format, and language to convey information to intended audiences.
  • Educating, consulting, and marketing Publication Services to customers.
  • Negotiating and developing schedules.
  • Establishing new methods for developing and processing documents as needed.
