This position reports to the Sales Operations Manager and contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries division. The work model for the role is Hybrid.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in automation and control of chemical/oil & gas/utilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge in Automation solution for DCS.
  • Expert knowledge of communication protocols encountered in the automation space.
  • Knowledge of digital applications in industry.
  • Demonstratable effective communication with sales, sales management, product managers, business drivers, and customers to help drive a solution to a specific customer request.
  • Ability to learn and apply varying technical solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Able to interpret customer requests with various level of detail to formulate an ABB solution and path forward.
  • Can set priorities and solicit support as required to meet deadlines.
  • Able to identify risks and propose mitigation plan.
  • Individual must be able to demonstrate initiative and motivation to achieve the results with minimal supervision.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Offers technical advice and provides comment on enquiry specifications for customers/channels/Sales Specialists with regard to ABB products/systems/applications.
  • Provides technical support during technical meetings, product presentations and negotiations.
  • Supports proposal development with local sales unit and help from global sales specialists/product managers.
  • Leads demonstration of technical solutions and project value propositions in a concise form that resonates with customer senior management.
  • Ensures budget (volumes) and profitable growth targets are achieved in the US; ensures achievement of targets on orders, net price variance (NPV), Net Promoter Score (NPS).
