About The Position

Tripledot is one of the largest independent mobile games companies in the world, with a global team of over 2,500 across 12 studios. The company is known for its multi-award-winning portfolio, which includes some of the biggest titles in mobile gaming, engaging over 25 million daily active users. The role of Senior Technical Artist is based in the Ludios studio, which is part of the Tripledot Group. The lead tech artist will manage a team of tech artists and enhance efficient pipelines for all creative departments in mobile game development. This position requires relocation to Melbourne, Australia.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Unity implementation pipelines and optimization.
  • Knowledge of setting and maintaining standards for art asset visual quality.
  • Experience managing Tech Art tasks, scheduling, and team bandwidth for successful delivery.
  • Proficiency in Git/GitHub for reviewing, guiding commits, and code management.
  • Ability to document and enforce naming conventions, asset workflows, and best practices.
  • Skills in project profiling, identifying blockers, and implementing optimization solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers and directors to improve workflows and technology use.
  • Ability to mentor, critique constructively, and support team members’ growth and performance.
  • Strong leadership in recruitment, performance reviews, and succession planning.
  • Positive team-focused approach: communication, collaboration, inclusion, and motivation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Leads, Technical Director, and Studio Art Director to set optimized Unity implementation pipeline.
  • Work with Art Directors to set standards on implementation visual quality.
  • Manage Tech Art team task prioritization, scheduling, and task tracking.
  • Brief tasks to members and review all art member's work in GitHub with clear feedback.
  • Monitor overall art asset pipeline and create improvement plans.
  • Maintain documentation for art asset naming conventions, decoration, UI implementation, and best practices.
  • Perform project profiling regularly, devise optimization plans, and ensure proper technology utilization.
  • Partner with Tool Engineers to develop tools that improve efficiency for art teams.
  • Define and refine core content and feature implementation pipelines.
  • Plan and deliver training, mentoring, and career development programs for the team.
