As a Senior Technology Architect in our Enterprise Architecture team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s future technology landscape. Your strong expertise in delivering architecture in financial services will drive transformation, enhance client experience, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, data management and security standards. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.  You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

  • Enterprise Data Strategy: C reate a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's overall business strategy, outlining how data will be managed, used, and integrated across the enterprise.
  • Architecture Development - Design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions for core banking, payments, lending, investment products, and digital platforms. Establish and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and documentation. Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve system performance and scalability.
  • Regulatory and Security Compliance - Ensure compliance with regulatory, data management and security standards in all designs. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance cybersecurity and operational resilience.
  • Strategic Leadership - Define and execute architecture aligned with strategic business objectives. Develop long-term technology roadmaps and future-state architecture visions. Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and their impact.
  • Collaboration and Mentorship - Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology requirements with business goals. Mentor design and development teams on architectural best practices. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • You demonstrate 8+ years of experience in software design and architecture with an understanding of data management principles including data modeling, data warehousing, data integration, data governance as well as cloud-native solutions, containerization, and public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) in addition to an e xperie nce with both bespoke and vendor platforms (FIS an asset ), and combinations thereof.
  • You bring 5+ years with in financial services, focusing on banking, payments, or lending. and a solid experience within enterprise architecture (TOGAF , BIAN, or related), system design, application development, and operational resilience with an a dvanced knowledge of software architecture, microservices, API integrations (including open banking/finance ) , messaging frameworks (ex MQ, Kafka, etc ) and data management and analytics platforms .
  • You are a certified professional. TOGAF 9; Azure or AWS related certifications; CISSP or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • You have a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • You are a strong communicator : You possess strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and evaluate current and emerging technologies and drive to decisions that deliver the best solutions for the business .
  • Master’s degree is a plus.

  • This role has an expected salary range of $150,000- $180,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
  • The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
