About The Position

EXP is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join our Denver studio and provide technical leadership across all phases of project delivery. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in documentation, building codes, and construction administration, who thrives in a hands‑on, collaborative environment.

Requirements

Professional degree in Architecture or related discipline.
10+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on technical architecture and project delivery.
Advanced proficiency in Revit; AutoCAD experience as required.
Strong working knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and detailing.
Proven experience leading technical documentation and mentoring junior staff.
Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Transit Facilities and Aviation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership, including detailed design development, technical detailing, and redlines for project teams and support staff.
Collaborate closely with the design team to develop coordinated drawings and specifications suitable for bidding and construction.
Prepare and oversee architectural documentation in Revit (and, on occasion, AutoCAD) across all project phases, including Programming, Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
Conduct project research to support design solutions, materials selection, and constructability.
Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with firm standards.
Lead building code analysis and reviews, ensuring projects meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
Write and coordinate technical specifications in alignment with project scope and delivery requirements.
Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, consultants, and clients.
Support and oversee design execution during Construction Administration, including reviewing and responding to RFIs and submittals, issuing addenda, participating in site visits, and preparing field reports.
Ensure all deliverables communicate information clearly, accurately, and in a visually consistent manner aligned with EXP’s brand and quality standards.
