About The Position

EXP is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to join our Denver studio and provide technical leadership across all phases of project delivery. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in documentation, building codes, and construction administration, who thrives in a hands‑on, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional experience with a strong focus on technical architecture and project delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit; AutoCAD experience as required.
  • Strong working knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and detailing.
  • Proven experience leading technical documentation and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Transit Facilities and Aviation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership, including detailed design development, technical detailing, and redlines for project teams and support staff.
  • Collaborate closely with the design team to develop coordinated drawings and specifications suitable for bidding and construction.
  • Prepare and oversee architectural documentation in Revit (and, on occasion, AutoCAD) across all project phases, including Programming, Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.
  • Conduct project research to support design solutions, materials selection, and constructability.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with firm standards.
  • Lead building code analysis and reviews, ensuring projects meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Write and coordinate technical specifications in alignment with project scope and delivery requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, consultants, and clients.
  • Support and oversee design execution during Construction Administration, including reviewing and responding to RFIs and submittals, issuing addenda, participating in site visits, and preparing field reports.
  • Ensure all deliverables communicate information clearly, accurately, and in a visually consistent manner aligned with EXP’s brand and quality standards.
