Phospholutions is experiencing exponential growth after the commercial launch and now rapid global expansion of our proprietary RhizoSorb® technology. This technology helps to lower the environmental impact of fertilizers and is optimizing the use of inputs for growers resulting in better plant health. Supported by years of university research, extensive field testing, and backed by leading industry investors, our team is focused on the global expansion of RhizoSorb® technology. To support our team, we are hiring a Senior Technical Agronomist. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates based in the Plains or Midwest regions, particularly Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, or nearby states with the strongest preference for those located between Wichita, KS and Oklahoma City, OK. The individual hired for this position will assume ownership of and perform a diverse range of tasks, becoming an essential business partner to our Commercial, Marketing and Operations teams, helping to provide informed technical expertise across multiple channels while collaborating with our internal teams on development objectives and strategies. This role will ensure consistent, accurate, and practical technical information and product knowledge and support confident adoption of the company’s technology through training, education, and technical support. The Senior Technical Agronomist will lead the company’s technical agronomy function, manage our Technical Agronomist, and contribute to strategic decisions regarding team growth, territory design, and technical coverage.

Requirements

  • Ability to collaborate, build and maintain relationships, building creditability and trust with third-party producers
  • Proficient in all styles of communication (i.e. verbal, written, presentation, etc.) and ability to communicate clearly and engage effectively with individuals and groups of varying sizes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness or related field from an accredited university or college
  • At least 8 years of agronomic experience, with an emphasis on row crops (corn and soybean preferred)
  • Prior experience in a field-facing agronomy, technical support, or similar role
  • Deep understanding of regional agricultural crops, market practices
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. This company does not sponsor applicants for work visas
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple work locations as needed
  • Travel will be 50 to 75% to support customers, training, industry events, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agronomy with practical experience and familiarity with standard agronomic practices
  • “Day-1 Expert-level” proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Background checks (criminal/education/employment/reference/credit/DMV) will be performed; results must be satisfactory to the company.
  • If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures and other prescribed best practices/industry standards
  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, i.e., heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc. for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to walk on uneven terrain
  • Must be able to lift 50-60 lbs

  • Master’s degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, or related field from an accredited university or college

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for retailers, distributors, and growers in geographies without dedicated regional sales management coverage
  • Provide direct agronomic support to retailers and distribution partners, including product positioning and transition support from conventional phosphorus programs to RhizoSorb®
  • Deliver trainings to retail and distributor sales teams through field visits, meetings, and industry events
  • Support growers and retailers during trials and commercial demos to ensure proper implementation and understanding of product performance
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings as a technical expert
  • Directly manage the existing Technical Agronomist, providing coaching, mentorship, prioritization, and performance feedback
  • Establish consistent technical standards, messaging, and best practices across the technical agronomy group
  • Partner with VP of Sales and Marketing and COO to define metrics and triggers to support growth
  • Contribute to future territory design and coverage strategy for technical agronomists, including overlap and support models
  • Support the Commercial team by serving as a technical resource for customer and retailer discussions
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop technical sales content, training materials, and additional technical resources incorporating customer feedback that support retailers and internal teams
  • Maintain consistent and accurate documentation related to technical support activities, trainings delivered, and retailer engagement
  • Stay current on agronomic practices, nutrient management approaches, and regional market conditions
