In partnership with other City Agencies and Nonprofit Organizations, DHS works to prevent homelessness before it begins, reduces street homelessness, provide temporary shelter, and connect individuals and families to stable housing all with a focus on accountability, empathy, and equity. DHS is committed to continuous improvement and employs innovative strategies to deliver high-quality services that support a swift transition from shelter to self-sufficiency. The agency manages hundreds of facilities and operates with a large team as well as a several billion-dollar budget to meet the diverse needs of New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. . The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is requesting approval to hire one (1) Administrative Director of Social Services-MI to function as a Senior Team Leader who will: - Assist in the implementation of Enhanced Client Support Unit initiatives by conducting training sessions for staff and providers to ensure that necessary support activities are available to the effort so that anticipated outcomes are achieved and tracked. - Research and prepare reports using quantitative statistical analysis of trend data which form the basis of quality control functions and performance measurements that are critical to the department. - Direct unit activity centered on the development and implementation of program designs to address emergent client needs along the continuum of care. - Analyze long term trends in Next step shelters and program shelters, number of clients that received ILP violation and sanction in Next Step shelters and clients’ that left system to independent living and assists in developing policy analysis projects. - Coordinate unit activities by providing directions to enhance communication between the Agency, Next Step shelters and Program shelters to ensure that agency guidelines and policies are met. - Oversee human resources issues for unit staff; ensure compliance with Agency’s Code of Conducts, Time and Leave Regulations and EEO Law; Absence Control Program; Performance Evaluations and Tasks and Standards guidelines and timeframes.
