About The Position

We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our international public accounting practice, RÖDL, in our Houston, Texas office. Your responsibilities will focus on tax consulting as it relates to a broad range of international and domestic tax issues. The ideal candidate will have experience with international inbound topics and general U.S. tax structuring. Responsibilities: Successful candidates will have diverse tax experience including exposure to the following areas of tax: international, corporate, partnership and state and local tax, U.S. tax treaties, inbound and outbound structuring, domestic restructuring, U.S. tax compliance for foreign corporations, foreign partnerships and foreign disregarded entities, FATCA, foreign withholding, earnings and profits, and foreign tax credits, among others. There may be some compliance required particularly as it relates to review of tax returns and identification of issues and opportunities, but generally tax compliance is not a significant part of the role. The international tax practice at RÖDL is unique in that you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tax issues as they relate to our client base of mostly foreign owned companies and foreign individuals. You will have a great deal of autonomy but will work in a team environment. We will not constrain your career development to a specific service line but offer vast opportunities to explore our other specialties or allow you to develop yourself as a generalist. Requirements

  • 8+ years of tax experience with the Big 4 or a regional/national CPA firm.
  • Bachelors or Masters in Taxation, or similar program from an accredited college/university.
  • CPA (or commitment to pass CPA exam and obtain CPA license)
  • Independent, yet able to interface with practice leaders to assure the best possible results for clients.
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • People oriented and willing to train, motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong planning, research, writing and communication skills.
  • Occasional international travel required
