About The Position

Senior Tax Manager - Houston, TX Who: We are seeking a seasoned tax professional with 8+ years of experience, ideally from a Big 4 or regional/national CPA firm, who excels in international and domestic tax consulting and enjoys working with globally oriented clients. What: You will focus primarily on complex international and domestic tax consulting—covering areas such as inbound/outbound structuring, U.S. tax treaties, foreign entity compliance considerations, foreign tax credits, and cross-border planning—with limited involvement in tax compliance review. When: This is a full-time position available for immediate hire. Where: Based in our confidential client’s Houston, Texas office. Position Overview: The Senior Tax Manager will lead complex cross-border tax consulting engagements, advise foreign-owned businesses on U.S. tax issues, conduct technical research, guide internal teams, and collaborate closely with practice leaders while enjoying broad autonomy and exposure to diverse international tax topics.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of tax experience with a Big 4 or regional/national CPA firm.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Taxation or a related field.
  • CPA license (or strong commitment to obtaining one).
  • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • People-focused approach with an interest in developing staff.
  • Excellent research, writing, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on a wide range of international, corporate, partnership, and state/local tax matters.
  • Work on inbound and outbound structuring, domestic restructuring, and U.S. treaty analysis.
  • Support U.S. tax issues involving foreign corporations, partnerships, and disregarded entities.
  • Address topics such as FATCA, foreign withholding, foreign tax credits, earnings and profits, and more.
  • Review tax returns with a consultative lens to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Engage in varied international tax projects across a foreign-owned client base.
  • Operate autonomously while collaborating with partners and peers.
  • Mentor, train, and develop staff within a team-centered environment.
  • Conduct technical planning, research, and written analysis.
  • Participate in occasional international travel as needed.
