Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and in good standing.
• 20+ years of experience in tax law with leadership skills.
• Experience in complex commercial transactions, including individual, partnership, and corporate tax aspects.
• Experience structuring mergers and acquisitions, business formations, and financing transactions.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with affordable housing tax credit issues.
• Knowledge of sales and use tax, estate planning, and qualified plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on tax consequences, risks, and opportunities of business entity structures and activities.
• Address tax controversy matters for clients.
• Lead the tax practice area and oversee 8-10 staff/attorneys.
• Structure mergers and acquisitions, business formations, and debt and equity financing.
• Draft memoranda and documents related to individual, partnership, and corporate tax aspects of transactions.
• Advise on employee compensation and benefits in various industries.
