About The Position

Senior Tax Associate, Corporate, Income Franchise Our Global Tax team is hiring a Senior Tax Specialist within our State Tax Accounting and Reporting Team. This position will be responsible for preparing State income and franchise tax returns, as well as assisting in the federal tax return and quarterly tax provision process. An ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to work autonomously while partnering with various teams across the department. An ideal candidate will possess strong communication and technological skills, the ability to multi-task and prioritize various projects at once, attention to details and a desire for problem solving. Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Specialist—State Accounting and Reporting: Preparation of state income and franchise tax returns in numerous jurisdictions including unitary, combined and separate entities Preparation of various state non-income tax monthly, quarterly and annual filings Assist in requesting tax payments via check, EFT and wire transfer Calculation of quarterly estimated payments and annual extensions Assist in the calculation of state apportionment and various tax return modifications Research and respond to state tax notices Identify and implement process improvements and automation solutions for data collection, tax calculations and tax reporting Assist in the Federal tax return and provision processes, including calculating book/tax differences and preparing various reconciliations and analyses Participating in special state tax compliance and planning projects as needed Travel to other company sites and tax conferences as needed Position reports directly to the Director, State Tax Accounting and Reporting

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of tax experience in a public company or accounting firm or law firm or a combination
  • Strong communication, research and writing skills
  • The ability to multi-task, work independently, develop new ideas and take ownership of projects

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar field of study
  • Master’s of Science in Tax or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Tax experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm or financial services environment
  • Software experience using OneSource, Google Suite, Excel, Alteryx and Checkpoint
